Pikes Peak Workforce Center expanding into Fountain

The Pikes Peak Workforce Center will open a satellite office inFountain on June 15.

The office will operate out of the Lorraine Center, run by theFountain Fort Carson School District, which also houses a satelliteoffice of the El Paso County Department of Human Services and islocated at 301 E. Iowa in Fountain.

"In 2010 more than 5,000 customers traveled to the main PikesPeak Workforce Center offices from Security, Widefield andFountain," said El Paso County Commissioner Dennis Hisey. "This newlocation will better serve the residents in Southern El Paso Countyby decreasing their commute for job search assistance and careerguidance."

One person will manage the office and assist job seekers withonline job searches and unemployment insurance questions.

The office will also have a resource room equipped with computerswith Internet access for job search activities.

The Pikes Peak Workforce Center is federally funded. No countyfunds are used for its operations.
